A career built on one conviction: go all the way in.
The Story
In 1998, Stéphane Jacob had a newborn daughter, a home converted into a studio in Bordeaux, France, and a conviction that technology should be taken where no one else was taking it.
He founded Doo Interactive not to serve the market, but to pursue a principle: that the most meaningful work happens at the intersection of deep technical understanding and real-world application. From the very first year, the clients were Thomson CSF, 3Com, and the European Space Agency. Not because he chased them — because the work was at that level from day one.
30 years later, the principle hasn’t changed. The sectors have multiplied. The technology has evolved through every platform shift since the DOS era. The patents have been granted. The geography has expanded from Bordeaux to Dubai and across 10 countries. But the starting point of every engagement remains the same: understand the problem completely before touching anything.
The Founding Moment
Bordeaux, 2001.
With a three-year-old daughter and no commercial backing, Stéphane built the first fully spherical 360° camera — lens, sensor, capture software, processing pipeline, and display system — from scratch. Six years before Google Street View. Fifteen years before Facebook 360°.
It was not a startup. It was not a funded project. It was a man who saw a gap and built the solution because no one else had.
That instinct — to build what doesn’t exist rather than wait for someone else to build it — is the thread that runs through every major milestone in the AVG story.
Technology Evolution
You will not find this depth of technology continuity in any agency built on today’s tools. AVG was built on every tool since the Amiga era, with commercial animation work since 1993 — which means a depth of technical understanding no new agency can replicate.
